Loop allows you to connect and manage data from multiple sources, enabling seamless audience segmentation and activation. This guide provides an overview of the available data ingestion methods, their processing times, and how to choose the right one for your needs.

Understanding Data Ingestion in Loop

Loop supports two primary methods of data ingestion:

  • Batch Data Sources โ€“ Upload structured data files that are processed on a scheduled basis.

  • Real-Time Streaming Data Sources โ€“ Continuously send data using APIs, tags, or tracking pixels for instant availability.

Batch Data Sources (File-Based Imports)

Batch ingestion is best for large datasets that do not require immediate processing. These imports run on scheduled intervals, with a processing SLA of up to 24 hours, depending on file size and system load.

1. Uploading Data via CSV

  • Best for CRM data, email lists, and custom audience uploads.

  • Supports structured CSV formats for user attributes.

  • Files are typically processed within 6-12 hours.

Real-Time Streaming Data Sources

Streaming data sources allow continuous updates for more dynamic audience management, with data availability in near real-time (typically within minutes).

2. Loop Javascript Tag

  • Collects first-party data from websites.

  • Deployable via Google Tag Manager, other TMSs, or direct integration.

  • If set up properly, data appears in Loop within minutes of collection.

3. API Integration for Mobile App tracking

  • Enables direct data ingestion from mobile apps, web platforms, or external systems.

  • Best for real-time event tracking and behavioral data collection.
