What Are Mix & Match Segments?

Mix & Match segments allow you to enrich your own data with Loop’s or partner audiences. You can mix (OR) your segment with additional data to expand your reach, or match (AND) your segment to narrow down to those who meet both sets of criteria.

Use Cases

  • Mix (OR): Suppose you have a first‑party segment of retail customers who bought shoes. You’d like to scale this audience by including a third‑party “sports enthusiast” segment. Using OR broadens your reach to either group, capturing more potential buyers.

  • Match (AND): Imagine you have a loyalty customer list but want to target only those who also show “luxury buyer” intent from a third‑party provider. Using AND ensures the final audience has both your loyalty label and premium‑shopper characteristics.

Steps to Build a Mix & Match Segment

  1. Select Your First‑Party Segment

    • Go to your segments list and pick the existing segment(s) you want to enrich.

  2. Create a New Group

    • Click Create New Group.

    • Choose whether you want to add a First‑Party or Third‑Party segment to combine with your seed.

  3. Choose the Operator

    • AND (Match) will find users who belong to both your seed and the new segment.

    • OR (Mix) will expand your audience by including users from either segment.

  4. Find Relevant Audiences

    • Search and select the third‑party data providers or additional first‑party segments that fit your campaign goals.

  5. Click Create

    • Add any further logic or conditions, then click Create to finalize.

    • Your new Mix & Match segment is now ready for activation or further refinement.

By combining the power of your internal insights with robust external data, Mix & Match segments help you either broaden or refine your audience to suit any marketing objective.
